ULGMC has a large and friendly committee. Look out for them on trips, socials and at the walls or contact them here.
Heather Rumble - President
I've been in the club since 2008 and was Meets Secretary for 3 years before becoming President in 2012. I love fell running, long distance walking and mountain marathons. I also enjoy winter mountaineering and Alpine mountaineering. If the weather's nice you may find me climbing at Lawrencefield, Dinorwig Slate Quarries or bouldering on Dartmoor. I run the Easter meet at Caseg Fraith with Stephan, as well as odd trips throughout the year (e.g. the 2017 Welsh 3000's trip).
Mike Hale - Vice President
I've been a member of ULGMC since 2009. I've been climbing for 20+ years. I grew up walking and climbing in the Lake District and Skye and since then have climbed throughout the UK, skied and mountaineered in Europe. In 2010 I went on an expedition exploring the Tupungato region of Chile. I enjoy winter climbing and am also a member of the Alpine Club. I "enjoy" mountain marathons and help run the ULGMC Alpine trips. I'm keen to see more overseas trips and expeditions!
My role is to support the President and I can also be contacted by email. I'm also lead trustee for Fallcliffe Cottage.
Stephan Tietz - Membership Secretary & Treasurer
I joined ULGMC in 2010, shortly after I started climbing. My favourite UK climbing venues are Bosigran and Lawrencefield. I've also done some clambering on the continent, i.e. sport climbing in Spain and France, as well as recently mountaineering in Saas Fee (Switzerland). I also enjoy long distance walking and fell running. I have participated in a number of mountain marathons, done the Welsh 3000's and hope to complete the Bob Graham round one day. I run the Easter Meet at Caseg with Heather.
Mike Pollitt - Secretary
I started climbing with our sister club, the University of London Mountaineering Club, which I joined in 2003. I joined ULGMC in 2010. I am also a keen walker - particularly in the mountains but ranging from lowland areas to mountain wildcamping to hut-to-hut trekking in the Alps. I like scrambles and long adventure climbs.
I have lots of admin duties, but the main reason to email me would be for queries about AGM voting. I'm also lead trustee for Caseg Fraith.
Graham Cunningham - Meets Secretary
I joined ULGMC in 2000. Before that I'd been climbing with Oxford MC for quite a few years, after walking and scrambling in the UK mountains for, well, ages. Welsh 3000s in 1997, rock-climbing in UK, Spain, France and Swiss summer mountaineering. With ULGMC I'm semi-retired into hillwalking and scrambling, and I run the August Bank Holiday meet at Caseg.
I organise the meets list and the Annual General Meeting. Email me if you'd like to know more about a meet or book onto one.
Robby Pineda - Committee Member without Portfolio
I’ve been in the club for 2 years but have been heading into the hills in my spare time since I was nowt but a lad growing up in Cumbria. My main interests/obsessions are Scottish winter climbing, Alpine mountaineering, long easy multipitch mountain trad and Peak gritstone. I live in Nottingham an hour from Peak so can often be found cragging on gritstone or wandering up Kinder. This year I’m running the Scottish winter mountaineering trip, 2x Peak rock trips, 2x Wales Alps training trips and the Alps trip to Saas grund. If you are interested in any of my trips drop me an email.
